Huawei is preparing to release new flagship smartwatches under the Watch 4 series. Expected to arrive in three variants split between the Watch 4 and Watch 4 Pro, the Watch 4 series will receive a Chinese release later this month. Based on initial teasers, the company may launch the Watch 4 series globally soon, too.

Huawei has started teasing a new smartwatch, only slightly ahead of its global 'P60 series and Flagship Product Launch' event. While Huawei has not yet revealed the name of its new smartwatch on its global social media accounts, it has confirmed on Weibo that it intends to release the Watch 4 series. Based on earlier leaks, Huawei could introduce three Watch 4 series models, including a Watch 4 Pro.

Unlike many of the company's recent smartwatch releases, it appears that Huawei may showcase the Watch 4 series in China and globally at the same time. Typically, Huawei runs a teaser campaign in China first, before moving onto a global equivalent when it is ready to offer a device outside its home market. However, it has elected to share promotional images globally and in China simultaneously. As @RODENT950 summarises, the Watch 4 series has a more rounded design than recent Huawei Watch devices, Watch Ultimate included.

Additionally, the Watch 4 series will feature a slightly raised display, which also has a modest curvature. So far, Huawei's teasers have centred on the series' display, as well as its two hardware buttons. Seemingly, the display has minimal bezels, although we would recommend waiting for images of retail units to surface before passing judgement. The Watch 4 series appears to contain a digital crown too, which has become a staple of modern smartwatches in the last few years. Huawei will announce the Watch 4 series in China on May 18; the company has not announced a global release date yet.
