Amazfit GTR 4 smartwatch receives workout upgrades and AI chatbot functionality with new update
Zepp Health is now distributing firmware version 3.23.3.1 to the Amazfit GTR 4, one of its latest smartwatches. According to Gadgets & Wearables, the update arrives as roughly a 35 MB download. However, the device's latest firmware still features plenty of changes, despite its diminutive file size. Specifically, firmware version 3.23.3.1 adds Zepp Coach, an AI chatbot that will offer advice on health, fitness and workouts.
As the video embedded below shows, Zepp Coach is a ChatGPT-style chatbot that can be triggered via a paired smartphone app. For example, Zepp Coach can provide information about fitness metrics like VO2 Max and how that can be improved or which workouts would be effective in achieving given fitness goals. The chatbot can interpret data stored on your smartwatch before making personalised recommendations, giving it an advantage over services like ChatGPT.
Moreover, firmware version 3.23.3.1 introduces several other fitness-based improvements, including refined automatic workout detection. Also, the Amazfit GTR 4 will automatically continue measuring your heart rate for 3 minutes after the end of a workout. Furthermore, Amazfit has added the option of automatically ending a workout after reaching a predefined goal. Please see our Amazfit GTR 4 review for our full thoughts and how it compares to other modern smartwatches.
