Garmin Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 955 receive new Beta v15.17
Garmin is rolling out Public Beta Version 15.17 for the Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 955 smartwatches. The new software brings several additions, updates and fixes to the wearables. For example, sleep schedules have been updated to show which days are included when calculating your night’s sleep, before and after midnight, to make it easier to understand.
You can now view climbs on the course for your cycling event via the Race page on the Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 955 watches. Another addition is several altimeter calibration options, shown after you select your activity, as long as auto-calibration is turned off. Bug fixes for the wearables address an issue which meant the date was not visible on a watch face with a white background. Plus, the problem of the watch not vibrating to indicate an incoming call when carrying out certain activities has been resolved. Two bugs which could cause the device to crash, when starting navigation for an activity without a configured map page or when using some CIQ watch faces, have also been fixed.
Public Beta Version 15.17 is a Release Candidate, meaning this exact software will be released as a general update, assuming no issues are flagged during this beta test. The update will be automatically delivered to eligible smartwatches, with the wearables checking for the software once a day. Customers not enrolled in the Garmin Beta Program can sign up via Garmin Connect.
