The Urtopia Chord and Chord X e-bikes have been unveiled for the European market. The Chord is a stepover bike, while the Chord X has a lower step-through frame. The electric bicycles have a 250W motor, delivering up to 45 Nm torque and a top speed of 20 mph (~32 kph), or 16 mph (~25 kph) in Germany, with an adaptive torque sensor to quickly sync the motor to your speed.
The Urtopia offers Pedal, Eco, Comfort, Sport and Turbo modes, and a 352.8 Wh lithium-ion battery provides assistance for up to 120 km (~75 miles) range on a single charge. You can fully recharge the power pack in around three hours. Other parts on the Chord include Tektro hydraulic disc brakes and an eight-speed Shimano gear shift. The e-bikes boasts many smart features, including iOS and Android apps, where you can control various settings, view journey information and use GPS to track the location of your bike.
A built-in control panel between the handlebars can display navigation details using LED and contains speakers, which you can connect to via Bluetooth. The bike also supports fingerprint unlock and can be operated with voice commands. Plus, the bicycles feature a 20 Lux StVZO headlight, rear light and kickstand. The Chord has a 6061 alumnium frame, weighing approximately 21 kg (~46 lbs) and supporting loads up to 130 kg (~287 lbs). You can now buy the Urtopia Chord and Chord X e-bikes in the EU for €2,299 (~US$2,504). The bicycles are available with a white or black frame and will ship in the first half of July.
