New Urtopia e-bike launches with 750 W hub motor and 802 Wh battery

Urtopia may already be familiar to readers, as the manufacturer is also active in Germany. We have previously taken a closer look at the Carbon 1 ST, a smart and modern electric bike from the brand. The company is now introducing the new Carbon Atom, although availability is currently limited to the U.S., with no information yet on a potential European release. In the United States, the Carbon Atom is priced at $2,499, including mudguards and a kickstand at no extra cost. The model is clearly designed with the U.S. market in mind, as reflected in its specifications: it features a hub motor rated at 750 watts continuous output, with a peak output of 1,250 watts and up to 90 Nm of torque. Energy is supplied by a large 802 Wh battery. According to the manufacturer, the bike weighs 58 lbs without accessories.
While not particularly light, this remains reasonable given the motor performance, battery capacity, and overall equipment. The Carbon Atom comes with an 8-speed Shimano Acera derailleur, while braking is handled by hydraulic Tektro disc brakes. Front suspension is provided by a fork offering 80 millimeters of travel, and the carbon frame may help reduce vibrations. Although there is no rear suspension, a suspension seatpost is included to improve comfort. Additional features include a 3.5-inch color LCD, 26-inch Kenda tires at both front and rear, an integrated rear light, and a handlebar-mounted headlight.
