Ariel Rider launches new high-performance e-bike with 65 mph top speed

Ariel Rider has launched its latest performance-focused electric bike with an interesting set of features. It’s advertised as the high-performance PPB (private property bike) that's aimed for off-road and closed-course use. Ariel Rider has incorporated a powerful 3,500 W oil-cooled rear hub motor into the Mudd 72V, and according to the brand, it’s capable of delivering 8,000 W peak power, up to 330 Nm of torque and a top speed of 65 mph (105 km/h).
As for the battery, the e-bike boasts a massive 72 V 39 Ah (2,808 Wh) battery, which is said to offer up to 120 miles (200 km) of range on a single charge. It’s hard to believe this vehicle comes under the e-bike category, where most of the specs of the e-bike suggest it is much closer to the lightweight electric motorcycle category.
Since it’s an e-bike, you get a functional pedal and a cadence sensor alongside a half-twist throttle. It features a 6063 aluminum alloy frame capable of handling a payload of 400 lbs (181 kg). Furthermore, the four-link frame is paired with a DNM air shock, which is usually found in high-performance mountain bikes.
There are three riding modes to choose from, including Eco, Sport, and Boost, and each offers six assist levels. The Mudd 72V has 24 x 4.0-inch fat tires complemented by 4-piston hydraulic brakes with oversized 220 mm front and rear rotors. Plus, you get a thru-axle front suspension fork with a 100 mm travel.
As for price, the Ariel Rider Mudd 72V is available at an introductory price of $2,799. Available in a single black colorway, interested buyers can pre-order the e-bike directly from the company’s official website.
