Monarc launches new commuter e-bike with impressive 130 miles of range

An emerging e-bike company, Monarc has launched its latest commuter e-bike, the Tracer, in the global market. Monarch is the first e-bike brand that offers two removable 48 V 15 Ah (720 Wh each) LG battery packs as standard. That gives riders a total of 1,440 Wh of capacity. The company claims that the e-bike offers up to 130 miles (209 km) of range with battery packs and 65 miles (104 km) with a single battery pack. This is something every e-bike manufacturer should do and it’s much better than selling a second battery as an expansion add-on.
The Tracer is powered by the Bafang 750 W rear hub motor, which is said to deliver 1,638 W of peak motor power and 85 Nm of torque. The company ships the Tracer as a Class-2 commuter e-bike, but it can be configured as Class 1, 2, or 3, with pedal assist up to 28 mph (45 km/h).
Furthermore, there’s a 3.5-inch touchscreen display that shows essential riding information such as battery levels, range, and more. Plus, it also has Monarc companion app support, which further adds several features such as app-based locking functionality, integration with smart accessories (smart helmet, radar TPMS, camera, heart rate, and phone), full ride customization, and over-the-air updates.
Suspension duties are handled by Monarc’s in-house Gneiss fork with 80 mm of front travel. The aluminum-frame e-bike has a maximum payload capacity of 420 lbs (190 kg), with the rear rack capable of carrying 59 lbs (27 kg). As for price, the Monarc Tracer is priced at $1,899 for both high-step and step-thru frame designs. As a part of the launch offer, the company is offering a smart helmet completely free with the purchase of the e-bike.
