Engwe launches new foldable e-bike with 120 km range and USB-C charging

Engwe, a well-known budget-friendly e-bike manufacturer, has launched the new foldable electric bike, the Zip, in the global market. Advertised as the compact foldable e-bike, the Zip features a single-side front-fork folding design, which is said to make it easy to fold, save space, and ensure stability and safety at the same time. Speaking of dimensions, it measures 625 x 623 x 374 mm (62.5 x 67.3 x 37.4 cm) when folded and weighs 19.4 kg (42.77 lbs) with battery.
The steel frame of the e-bike is capable of handling a maximum payload of up to 120 kg (264.55 lbs). It’s powered by a rear hub motor, delivering 250 W power and 40 Nm of torque. This is accompanied by a 360 Wh battery for an extended assistance range of up to 120 km (~75 miles). On top of this, the battery comes with built-in BMS protection. The standout feature of the e-bike is its 100 W USB-C PD charging functionality.
The battery, which is fairly average in size, is removable and certified to EN50604. Furthermore, the foldable electric bike uses a seat tube suspension and 16 x 1.95” urban hybrid tires paired with hydraulic disc brakes (though with smaller 160 mm rotors). It boasts a 3.2-inch color LCD display, which shows essential information such as speed, battery level, riding mode, and other information. Thanks to Bluetooth connectivity, you can also view the data mentioned above directly on your smartphone.
Interested buyers can choose from olive green and space gray color options. As for price, the Engwe Zip is priced at €1,099 and now available for purchase directly from Engwe’s official website.
