Velotric Tempo launches as a new super lightweight city e-bike with Apple & Android tracking

Velotric has expanded its lightweight e-bike portfolio by introducing an all-new e-bike, the Tempo. The company’s new electric bike is designed for city commutes, featuring a 6061 triple-butted aluminum alloy frame. As for weight, it weighs in at just 39 lbs (17.7 kg), making it one of Velotric's lightest electric bikes. It gets even lighter, 34 lb (15.4 kg), thanks to the removable battery.
Interestingly, Velotric offers high-step as well as mid-step frame options. Speaking of powered things, the Tempo is powered by a 350 W inner rotor motor, delivering 45 Nm of torque and 650 W of peak power. It also features a detachable 374 Wh battery that manages to offer the rider up to 60 miles (96 km) of range on a single charge.
Furthermore, Velotric has incorporated its SensorSwap system into the Tempo, which basically lets riders switch between torque-sensing assist for a more natural pedaling feel and cadence-based assist for effortless cruising. Despite boasting a lightweight form factor, Velotric has loaded it with all essential tech features, including Apple Find My and Android Find Hub compatibility for tracking, NFC-based keyless unlocking, 4 riding modes, and app-based controls to further monitor the overall performance of the e-bike.
Other features include a 2-inch left-mounted full-color display, a USB-C port, walk mode, front and rear lights, IPX6 and IPX7 water resistance, Shimano hydraulic disc brakes, Kenda 700 x 42c puncture-resistant tires, and an aluminum alloy rear mount. Moreover, it can handle maximum payloads of up to 330 lbs (149.6 kg).
Available in eye-catching sunset tangerine, forest evergreen, and lightning silver colorways, the Velotric Tempo is priced at $1,499. Interested buyers can now purchase the e-bike directly from Velotric’s official website.
