Decathlon has released the new Rockrider E-EXPL 140 29" semi-rigid electric mountain bike in Europe. This model is designed for off-road trails, with the ability to handle changes in elevation on hills or mid-mountain routes.
The Decathlon Rockrider E-EXPL 140 e-MTB is powered by a mid-drive Vision M120 motor, for 550W maximum power and a top assistance speed of 25 kph (~16 mph). The motor can generate up to 78 Nm torque and is accompanied by a torque sensor. This model is also fitted with a 499 Wh battery, which Decathlon estimates as providing up to 80 km (~50 miles) of assistance range. The battery recharges via USB-C, and the remaining battery level is shown on the handlebar-mounted T500 UH display.
The E-EXPL 140 is an 8-speed e-bike with a Microshift Acolyte drive train. Other features include a 120 mm Suntour XCM 32 suspension fork, 29-inch wheels with Kenda El Capo K1221 tires, and 180 mm Tektro HD-M 275 hydraulic disc brakes. Plus, there are accessories like a bell, lights and wheel reflectors. The aluminum frame is available in four sizes - S, M, L and XL - with the size M bike weighing 25.8 kg (~56.9 lbs) without pedals.
