Tern has expanded its premium e-bike lineup by launching the all-new fourth-generation Vektron. This time around, the urban-focused e-bike company has announced two models under the fourth-generation Vektron lineup—the Vektron P10 and the Vektron P5i. Both models feature a 6061-AL hydroformed aluminum foldable frame design paired with a 6061-AI hydroformed Tern Tarsus fork.
Besides the aluminum frame, both models ship with the same motor and battery pack. Speaking more precisely, the P10 and the P5i are powered by a Bosch Performance Line mid-drive motor that delivers a maximum speed of 20 mph (32.1 km/h). Inside the 4th generation Vektron is the Bosch PowerPack 500 Wh battery, which is said to offer a maximum range of up to 88 miles (141.6 km) on a single charge.
What separates the P10 and P5i from each other is the drivetrain system. The former is equipped with 10-speed Shimano Deore drivetrains, while the latter comes with a Gates Carbon belt drive paired with a Shimano Nexus 5-speed transmission. In terms of weight, the P5i weighs around 21.4 kg (47.2 lb), while the P10 is slightly lighter than the former, weighing 20 kg (44.1 lb). However, both models have the same payload capacity of 125 kg (231.5 lb).
Furthermore, both new Vektron models are UL 2849 and EN 15194 certified. Other features include Magura MT4 hydraulic disc brakes, an adjustable cockpit, a compact Bosch Purion display, a 190-lumen front light, Herrmans H-Trace rear light, and an Atlas V rear rack with a total 27 kg (59.5 lb) of load capacity.
Available in cosmic black and urban verdant colorways, the Vektron P10 is priced at $3,699.99 and the P5i costs $4,099. For more details, head over to Tern’s official website.
