Tenways, a Dutch e-bike company, has unveiled its latest electric bike, the Wayfarer, in the US. The company’s new city electric bike ships with a flagship set of features and a premium price tag as well. Speaking of powered things, Tenways has incorporated a 500 W Bafang rear hub motor into the Wayfarer, which is said to offer a 750 W peak power and a default speed of 20 mph (32.1 km/h). Interestingly, riders can also adjust the speed up to 28 mph (45 km/h) for extra performance.
The Wayfarer e-bike, designed to be used for both urban commutes and off-road adventures, boasts a large 720 Wh (48 V 15 Ah) removable lithium battery. This is the same battery found on the recently released Batch eCB.3 commuter e-bike. As for range, the company claims that it offers 85 miles (136.7 km) of range on a single charge. Furthermore, the electric bike is equipped with a Shimano 8-speed drivetrain and features wide 27.5 x 2.6-inch puncture-resistant tires complemented by a FIX-15 suspension fork and hydraulic disc brakes.
The urban-focused e-bike features a 6061 aerospace aluminum alloy frame, which weighs around 57.5 lbs (26 kg) and can handle maximum payloads (including rider + load) of up to 265 lbs (120 kg). There’s a 4.3-inch LCD display with a Type-C charging port and password protection. In terms of connectivity, the e-bike has support for the Tenways companion app, which lets you track rides, mileage, and performance.
On top of that, the Wayfarer ships with Apple Find My support, which further helps to locate your e-bike. Available in blue and white colorways, the Tenways Wayfarer is priced at $2,199. As a part of the launch offer, the company is offering a $300 early bird discount (code: EARLYBIRD300), bringing the price down from $2,199 to $1,899 for a limited time. Buyers can now purchase the e-bike directly from Tenways' official website.
