Tern has unveiled its latest Vektron S10 electric bike special edition version in collaboration with Airstream. Every special edition model comes with a unique aesthetic and the S10 is no different. The Vektron S10 features Airstream’s polished aluminum aesthetic and boasts a hydroformed 7005-AL frame that can handle payloads of up to 275.6 lb (125 kg).
Fundamentally, the new Airstream special edition retains the same motor, battery, and other specifications from the original Vektron S10, though. Speaking of powered things, the e-bike uses Bosch’s Performance Line drive system with 65 Nm of torque that offers pedal assist up to 20 mph (32 km/h). This is the similar motor found on Canyon's recently launched Cityite:ON e-bike. A 400 Wh Bosch PowerPack battery powers the S10 Airstream, which is said to offer a range in between 53 and 106 km (34-68 miles) on a single charge.
Like the original model, the new release by Tern features a foldable design, which further allows the rider to tuck neatly into an Airstream trailer or tow vehicle. Other features include a Bosch Purion 200 display, Magura MT4 hydraulic disk brakes, a Tern Valo Direct 190-lumen headlight, a rear light, and a 10-speed Shimano Deore Shadow+ rear derailleur. There are also accessories like passenger seats, front racks, panniers, and more.
Alongside the Vektron S10 Airstream edition, Tern has also launched the HSD P5I Airstream model. The HSD P5I compact electric cargo bike features the same Bosch Performance Line drive system as the S10. As for the price, the Tern Vektron S10 Airstream special edition is priced at $3,699, while the HSD P5U Airstream costs $5,099.
