Brompton, the London-based folding-bike maker, has unveiled its latest Brompton Electric range, the Electric T Line, in Europe. Advertised as the lightest folding e-bike ever, it weighs around 11.2 kg (24.6 lbs) without the battery and 14.1 kg (31 lbs) with the battery. Speaking of build quality, the Electric T Line is handcrafted from titanium and carbon and it can turn from a road-ready e-bike to a compact package in under 20 seconds, thanks to its folding design.
The next-generation T Line e-bike is powered by Brompton’s new proprietary e-Motiq system. This is the same system found on Brompton’s recently released Electric G line. The Electric T Line, designed to be used for urban riding, features a custom-built 250 W rear hub motor that delivers 24 Nm torque. It offers an all-new start assist mode to tackle steep climbs and a walk assist mode with up to 6 km/h (3.7 mph) speed.
The foldable vehicle ships with a 345 Wh detachable battery, which is said to offer up to 90 km (55.9 miles) of range on a single charge. It’s also compatible with the Brompton Electric companion app, which offers smart range predictions and over-the-air updates. Furthermore, the Electric T Line ships with the widest-ever choice of frame materials, finishes, and accessories, including a new range of purpose-built electric luggage.
The Brompton Electric T Line will be available for pre-order across Europe starting from 21st October via Brompton’s official website. Open sales will commence on October 28th via Brompton authorized dealers. As for price, there’s no information available on price at the time of writing. Head over to the company’s official website for more details.
