Urtopia Fusion: E-bike set to take bikes to the next generation with AI, ChatGPT and LTE
Urtopia has presented, or at least teased, a new e-bike. The AI functions of the model are currently the subject of heavy advertising, along with its ability to integrate various apps and wearables. According to Urtopia, the new e-bike is the first smart e-bike with ChatGPT integration.
The architecture at the software level is clearly stated: Individual sensors - such as the fingerprint sensor, but also the GPS module, the gyroscope and the torque sensor - communicate in a bundled manner via a CAN bus with a central control unit, which itself has the corresponding computing chips. Communication with cloud services is possible via 4G, and with Google Maps, Apple Health, Strava, ChatGPT and other applications via APIs.
Furthermore, Urtopia also claims that AI support should significantly improve the electric support component of the ride over time and thus 'learn', for example, the pedalling behavior of users. Whether this AI-supported adaptation actually leads to improved support is not yet completely clear.
The supply of software updates as OTA updates is also advertised, but this is no longer an absolute novelty. The new bike will come with a screen integrated into the handlebars, apparently without color reproduction and with a fairly low, stylized resolution. Navigation instructions can be displayed on this screen.
A controller with four direction buttons, a fingerprint sensor and a gear shift is also reportedly installed, and it should be possible to use two batteries. According to Urtopia, the new e-bike will be unveiled at CES.
