Honda has announced the e:Ny1 electric compact SUV for the European market. The Japanese marque bills the e:Ny1 as a fun, dynamic ride with a practical range. The e:Ny1 is Honda's second electric vehicle in Europe, serving as a larger alternative to the urban Honda e.
Honda has just unveiled the e:Ny1 electric crossover SUV for arrival in Europe to compete against the likes of the Subaru Solterra, Kia Niro EV, and the popular Volkswagen ID.4. The new Honda e:Ny1 will launch with a 68.8 kWh battery that delivers 256 miles of range via a 150 kW (201 hp) single-motor, front-wheel-drive drivetrain.
Images of the Honda e:Ny1 reveal what will probably turn out to be a fairly polarising design thanks to a short hood and a long roof that slopes downward towards the back of the vehicle in something resembling an oversized fastback. The interior of the e:Ny1 appears fairly well appointed and spacious, as a result of the lack of a transmission tunnel and a low floor. Infotainment duties are handled by a 15.1-inch vertically-orientated touch screen in the centre of the dash, while cruise control and media buttons are located on the steering wheel.
The e:Ny1 will feature DC fast charging that Honda claims can charge the vehicle from 10% to 80% in 45 minutes. Honda didn't specify exactly when the vehicle will arrive or what the pricing would be, but expect to see it land in Europe later in 2023. InsideEVs reports that the expected UK pricing is around £30,000 (US$37,500).

My interest in tech started in high school, rooting and flashing my Motorola Defy, but I really fell down the rabbit hole when I realised I could overclock the i7 930 in my Gigabyte pre-built PC. This tinkering addiction eventually lead me to study product design in university. I think tech should improve the lives of the people using it, no matter the field. I like to read and write about laptops, smartphones, software and trends in technology.
