The ID.7 is already painted as Volkswagen's most premium and powerful electric car yet - however, some potential buyers might hold out to get even more of the latter thanks to the introduction of its GTX variant. It is to be all-wheel drive, whereas the 'vanilla' version of the car is rear-wheel drive.
Volkswagen also asserts that the second ID.7 will have more "power" thanks to GTX vehicle dynamics management software, rated to get the most out of "not only the powertrain, but also all braking, steering and chassis control systems, depending on the selected driving profile".
The ID.7 GTX' MEB is also linked to running gear that should be "fundamentally enhanced" (although compared to what is not given at this point). Nevertheless, it is still also hyped as a "long-range" vehicle with some if not all of the same creature-comforts of the original model.
Finally, consumers should be able to pick this variant out of a crowd of Volkswagen all-electric "limousines" through its new design, which involves the glossy black and red interior trim of its "sporty" series, as well as extra logos to this effect.
The latest electric GTX exists only as a pre-production concept vehicle at present, yet should be ready for a full reveal during the IAA Mobility trade show, to be hosted in Munich, Germany from September 5 to 10, 2023.
