Volkswagen has announced that the release of the ID.7 has begun in Europe, in the form of its Pro configuration to start off with. The variant is rated for up to ~386 miles of (WLTP) range and comes with an augmented reality (AR) head-up display and keyless entry as standard. The ID.7 Pro is also touted to come with a generous luggage volume and an "agile" turning circle.

Volkswagen ID.7 pre-sales are on, starting with availability for its Pro specification. Its version of the rear-mounted APP550 is rated for an output of 210kW (286 horsepower) and 545Nm of torque, and is connected to a 77Wh battery for a range of up to 621 kilometers (km, or ~386 miles, WLTP) and an average efficiency of 16.3 - 14.1 kWh per 100km".

Volkswagen has now also revealed that the "long wheelbase" ~5 meter (m) long ID.7 (well, its Pro variant, at least) sedan design makes for a luggage compartment of "up to 532 litres (l)", even though it has a turning circle of "just" 10.9m.

The ID.7 Pro comes with the OEM's new AR display and Discover Pro Max navigation as standard, as well as SAFELOCK keyless access/ignition system. 8 or 8.5 J x 19 black diamond-cut alloy wheels are also thrown in, as are a range of driver assistance options, although other things such as Volkswagen's new LED headlights, the Harman Kardon-branded audio system and the ergoActive front seats are part of different optional packages.

Accordingly, the ID.7 Pro starts at €56,995 (~US$61,680) in its initial market.
