New Tesla Cybertruck footage shows a comically-large wiper in a mild off-road stint. In a separate video, the Cybertruck is seen wearing a green Toyota Tundra wrap on a highway cruise. Upon closer inspection, the Tundra-wrapped Cybertruck may have some serious panel gap issues.

Recent Tesla Cybertruck sightings have given us a glimpse at what features and proportions to expect when the American EV maker's electric pickup truck hits the market. That said, more recent videos, posted online to the Cybertruck Owner's Club forum and to the social media platform X (fka Twitter), poke fun at the Toyota Tundra and the Cybertruck itself — intentionally or not.

First, a video surfaced on the Cybertruck Owners Club showing a Cybertruck test mule cruising the streets in a wrap featuring the façade of a Toyota Tundra. While these wraps are almost certainly attempts at Tesla to generate humour and excitement around the Cybertruck, other sightings and teases of the vehicle have shown that Tesla hasn't completely solved issues surrounding manufacturing accuracy and panel gaps. Hiding the Cybertruck under a comical wrap might be the perfect way to disguise its infamous panels gaps and the Cybertruck's fingerprint-magnet finish.

Another video of the Cybertruck shows the vehicle's sizeable windscreen wiper — sometimes known as the "gigawiper" — in action on a dirt road. While there don't seem to be any changes to the Cybertruck's windscreen wiper design, this is one of the best looks we've had at the wiper in action.

The length of the wiper has raised concerns among online commenters regarding how well it will work in adverse weather conditions. There are two issues at play when it comes to a windscreen wiper as long as the Cybertruck's. Firstly, the time it takes to complete a sweep of the windscreen may hinder the wiper's performance in heavy rainstorms — the rain may fall faster than it can be swept away, thanks to the wiper's long radius slowing the end down.

The second issue highlighted by responses to the video comes down to the amount of leverage the wiper will have, with many questioning whether the Cybertruck's gigawiper will have a motor powerful enough to clear heavy snowfall from the windscreen.

We have already seen the Cybertruck undergo winter testing, and, presumably, Tesla has tested the windscreen wipers in a variety of conditions, but it's not outside the realm of possibility that the wiper's performance doesn't live up to expectations.

A more conventional setup may have had the Cybertruck feature two separate windscreen wiper blade arms and motors operating with an overlap in the centre and at an offset frequency. Tesla undoubtedly has its reasons for opting for a single, long wiper blade arm, but how it performs remains to be seen.
