OnePlus is now believed to have another device to augment its high-end 2023 smartphone line-up soon. It is thought to ship with the same processor as the brand's current flagship, yet hit a more moderate price-point with a display from BOE. It is slated to launch in China, yet could arrive in other regions thereafter as a new variation on the existing 11R.
OnePlus chose the name "Ace 2" for the non-global version of its early-year sub-flagship smartphone option. Now, that device is slated to get a new "Pro" variant with some important specs that are either slightly upgraded, updated or possibly both at once.
This latest rumored device is said to run on the same 8 Gen 2 platform of the 11, rather than the 8+ Gen 1 of the Ace 2. However, this "Pro" might still have a 1.5K display on its launch, thereby falling into the premium mid-range band of the OnePlus smartphone spectrum.
Then again, there are already hints that BOE may have integrated some new features into this panel, thereby setting it apart from the existing model - even if they, according to the latest Digital Chat Station, include curved edges.
The "Ace 2 Pro" may be sold only in China; however, it may make it to other regions - most likely India - with a re-brand. Its specs as leaked may not quite match requirements for a 10T upgrade - however, the 9RT is more than due a successor in 2023.
