OnePlus 11 Jupiter Rock Edition launches with unique new design
OnePlus has launched the OnePlus 11 Jupiter Rock Edition, its latest special edition smartphone. As its name suggests, the design is inspired by the planet Jupiter and supposedly spent over a year in development. OnePlus adds that the nine-stage process it uses to create the 'Jupiter Rock' effect is so complicated that it delivers half the efficiency of the glass panels on the regular OnePlus 11.
According to the manufacturer, the '3D microcrystalline rock' it uses delivers a unique pattern for each unit. Allegedly, the back of the OnePlus 11 Jupiter Rock Edition feels like Jade, which is to say that it will be cool to the touch while retaining a smooth texture. The Jupiter Rock Edition has the same internals as the regular model that we recently launched globally though, including a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and a 6.7-inch AMOLED display.
Seemingly, the Jupiter Rock Edition is slightly lighter than its regular OnePlus 11 counterparts, although only by 2 g or so. The OnePlus 11 Jupiter Rock Edition costs CNY 4,899 (~US$713) in China with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. However, OnePlus is offering the device at CNY 4,889 (~US$711) as a 'pre-sale price', a CNY 10 (~US$1) discount. Reportedly, OnePlus plans to sell the Jupiter Edition in India, too. It is unclear when the Jupiter Edition will be available outside China, though.
