OxygenOS 13.1 roll-out to OnePlus 11 series - and older flagships - begins
The Nord CE 3 Lite was the first smartphone to launch with the latest 13.1 version of OxygenOS, OnePlus' official skin for Android. However, the brand has now finally announced that it is ready for other smartphones, its current top-end 11 series included.
The OxygenOS 13.1 roll-out announcement is also good news for owners of the 10 Pro and 10T, not to mention the entire 9 (except for the 9RT) and 8 series, - as all of those smartphones are now to be updated to this new iteration.
Then again, this expanded availability complicates the upgrade process somewhat, as some OxygenOS 13.1 features seem to be exclusive to certain devices: for example, there is now a PC Connect feature, but only for the 9 and 9 Pro (and not the 9R).
In addition, the newly augmented Omoji library and options are not available to the 10 series. All applicable devices get the updated Zen Mode, ability to play music over gaming apps and TalkBack for images in apps, however.
Finally, OxygenOS 13.1 for the 11 is also only available to a slowly growing pool of Indian users at present.
