OnePlus' 2020 flagship 8-series have acquired new updates for their version of Android, OxygenOS 11. It upgrades the phones to compatibility with the OEM's latest TWS earbuds, the Buds Pro, now released to the European market. The OTA also adds the latest software tweaks developed for its brand, its new Bitmoji AOD feature included.

OnePlus has updated the 8, 8 Pro and 8T premium smartphones with support for its new Buds Pro. They are the OEM's first TWS earbuds to launch with adaptive noise cancellation. They debuted alongside the Nord 2, although they have only actually just made it to the European market thus far.

However, it seems the buds are out of stock in both their black and white colorways in many national versions of the OnePlus web-store already (at the time of writing). Nevertheless, they should still work with 8-series units that have the latest stable OxygenOS 11.0.8.8 OTA installed, and with Indian or EU/NA 8Ts with the new 11.0.9.9 or 11.0.10.10 versions.

These new Android 11-based updates also confer OnePlus' Bitmoji AODs on the 3 variants. They allow the user to generate the type of animated equivalent of themselves in question and set it to feature on their ambient display.

The updates also comes with the new app version of the OEM's aforementioned Store, which, according to the OEM, might unlock exclusive deals and also offers a portal to customer support. The new 8-series OxygenOS 11 updates also optimizes front-facing portrait mode and upgrades the phones' security patch level to August 2021.
