Some time ago, OnePlus promised that it would deliver the Android 11-based Oxygen OS 11 update to the OnePlus Nord 'soon'. It is finally here, nearly two months after the announcement was made. Users should begin receiving the software on their devices starting today (March 1, 2021). As always, it is a staggered release, meaning that only a handful of users will get the Android 11 update for the OnePlus Nord initially, followed by a gradual increase in the number of people who receive it.
OxygenOS 11 brings forth several QoL improvements, such as a redesigned system UI, new Ambient Display features, the ability to create 'Stories' straight out of your gallery, and more. OnePlus recommends that users set aside 3GB of storage and ensure that the device has at least 30% charge before attempting to install it. Those looking to sideload the Oxygen OS 11 update for the OnePlus Nord may have to wait for a little more time because OnePlus hasn't posted the OTA images on its website just yet.
With the OnePlus Nord out of the way, OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T, and OnePlus 7T Pro users are the next in like for OxygenOS 11. All four devices are in the advanced stages of their Oxygen OS 11 betas, so it shouldn't be long before a stable version is rolled out. OnePlus Nord N10 5G and OnePlus Nord N100 users are still left in the dark, though, along with their OnePlus 6 and One 6T-toting brethren.
