MediaTek recently launched its second-gen 5G-ready Dimensity flagship chipet, aiming it at the premium mid-range of smartphones of the immediate future. Shortly afterward, a leak linked Realme to this SoC, claiming the OEM had picked it up for a forthcoming phone called the X9 Pro.
The tipster WHYLAB has just backed this up again, with additional details on the putative device this time. This includes claims that the X9 Pro's FHD+ display will have a punch-hole selfie camera in its left upper corner. However, it will apparently support a 90Hz refresh rate, whereas an earlier tip pointed to 120Hz instead.
Then again, WHYLAB has also just re-hashed earlier rumors that the same phone will have a 4500mAh battery with Realme's SuperDart 65W charging technology. This leak also suggests that the X9 Pro will, in addition to its brand-new processor, also be the OEM's inaugural 108MP camera phone.
Therefore, it contradicts earlier indications that the Realme 8 Pro 5G would be the one to get this distinction. The company has announced that it will present more detail on its first-ever 108MP sensor during its Camera Innovation Event 2021, which is scheduled to take place on March 2, 2021 (also known as tomorrow).
