The 2021 Realme flagship phone started out on the leaks circuit under the code-name "Race"; however, the OEM has just affirmed that it will launch as the GT instead in its latest teasers. The device had been depicted as having a slightly generic blue glass rear panel in its official TENAA certification; however, it seems its maker has prepared an additional, possibly limited-edition, finish for it.
This, according to the leaker Digital Chat Station, consists of a yellow backing instead, broken asymmetrically with a wide black band that encompasses the GT's rear camera island. The tipster, who believes this striking main color is rendered in vegan leather, is backed up by a second Weibo user who has allegedly snapped real-world street-level marketing material showing the "bumblebee" Realme GT in full.
It is quite reminiscent of some Porsche Design-editions of Huawei's flagship phones in this shot, and, furthermore, happens to mirror the color-scheme found in the OEM's own launch teasers. Meanwhile, Realme's vice-president Xu Qi Chase has hinted that the phone is just as fast on the inside.
The executive has posted a screenshot with the GT's model number (RMX2202) that apparently shows the device has scored no less than 770,221 on the benchmark. This score smashes existing records, and has only been beaten (albeit by a hair) once before in 2021 to date. This occurred in a leak attributed to the Find X3 Pro: another phone with similar specs that might launch soon from Realme's sister company OPPO.
