Some time ago, Realme told us its upcoming high-end smartphone would be called the Realme GT. Formerly known as the Realme Race/Realme Race Pro, it will mark the beginning of an entirely new line of Realme-branded flagship devices. Realme has now confirmed that the smartphone will be launched on March 4, 2021.
Seasoned Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station chimed in stating that the Realme GT will be available with plain leather and glass versions. Given the nature of flagship smartphone launches in the recent past, more than one variants of the Realme GT will be launched. Several leaks from earlier told us about the existence of a Realme Race Pro, too.
If a report from some time ago is correct, we could see the world's first-ever 160HZ AMOLED panel in action alongside the Realme GT. Support for 125W fast charging is also tipped. It is abundantly clear that the Realme GT is Realme's answer to the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro. It'll be interesting to see how the two Snapdragon 888-powered smartphones fare against each other.
While its fast charging prowess and display specs are nice, the Realme GT's cameras will determine its fate. Every high-end Realme smartphone launched until now has stuck with a 64MP primary camera module. Perhaps the Realme GT could be its first-ever smartphone to use a 108MP Samsung ISOCELL sensor.
