Xiaomi started off as a smartphone OEM, but has since branched out into a wide range of electronics that extends from TWS earbuds to TVs. It has also successfully cut into the ultrabook market, as has its sub-brand Redmi, following Huawei's example in creating an potentially all-encompassing ecosystem for its customers. Now, Realme is said to be at least considering the same.
This OEM (a company under the BBK Electronics umbrella) may actually have more than 1 new laptop in the works, which are tentatively scheduled for launch in June 2021 - or so Mukul Sharma (@stufflistings) has "exclusively" revealed on Twitter. This new rumor follows earlier tips that BBK siblings OPPO and Vivo will also debut their first-gen mobile PCs this year.
In other news, Realme Link (a "lifestyle"-focused brand that operates in India) has announced an upcoming event on its official Twitter account. It is for something called TechLife, which, should its teaser image be anything to go by, is the roll-out of an ecosystem made up of "Technology that Empowers".
Could Realme's putative inaugural laptops be part of that category some day? The OEM may hint at an answer on February 4, 2021 at 12:30 IST.
