The Xiaomi Mi 11 has been out and about for a sufficient amount of time. Fans are now eagerly looking forward to what Xiaomi has in store for us with the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro. However, Xiaomi appears to have a little surprise in store for us if a new leak is to be believed. There is a Xiaomi Mi 10 refresh in the works, and it will probably be launched as an 'Anniversary Edition' device.
The information comes from renowned Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station (via Android Authority). However, the mystery Xiaomi Mi 10 variant will run a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC, quite unlike six of the nine devices in the Mi 10 series that run a Snapdragon 865. Everything else is expected to remain identical to the original Mi 12, including its specifications.
Although it might seem like Xiaomi decided to launch the Snapdragon 870-powered Mi 10 variant out of the blue, there is a method to this madness. A previous report told us that a Redmi K40 variant would run the SoC. Redmi devices are often slightly tweaked versions of corresponding Xiaomi smartphones, which is likely why this particular Mi 10 variant exists.
