OnePlus will not be bringing Android 11 to the OnePlus 7 series until next year, according to a moderator of the OnePlus Forums. The OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro were two of the earliest devices to receive Android 10, along with Google's Pixel smartphones. Additionally, the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro launched running Google's latest OS, so they are without an OS upgrade. Similarly, OnePlus has already upgraded the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro to Android 11, and we expect the OnePlus 8T to ship with the latest version of OxygenOS too.
However, tardy OS upgrades are common for older OnePlus smartphones. The OnePlus 7 Pro 5G did not receive Android 10 until March, for instance, while the OnePlus 5 series had to wait until May before it got the call to move on from Android 9.0 Pie. OnePlus did start upgrading the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T to Android 10 in November 2019, although most devices received it in December because of an initial buggy build.
If the OnePlus 7 series does not receive Android 11 until 2021, then would expect Q1 to be a likely release window. OnePlus typically runs beta programs for its smartphones too, so the OnePlus 7 may start receiving Android 11 beta builds before the end of the year.
