Chromebooks with Google's ChromeOS have been enjoying some popularity in the education sector. It seems that Google is making inroads in the business sector as well now, as some companies transition to the simpler Google OS. Lenovo's answer to this development: The new ThinkPad C13 Chromebook Enterprise. This 13.3 inch convertible is also the first ThinkPad laptop with a blue chassis.

Lenovo ThinkPads are traditionally paired with Microsoft Windows or in rarer cases, with a Linux system. The Google operating system ChromeOS has only been featured on a few select ThinkPads that were mostly meant for the US education sector. Examples are the ThinkPad 13 Chromebook or the ThinkPad 11e Chromebook.

After a few years in this niche, Google's ChromeOS seems to be increasingly popular in the enterprise segment as well. HP has introduced a device called the Elite c1030 Chromebook Enterprise in May for this market. Now, Lenovo follows with the ThinkPad C13 Yoga Chromebook Enterprise.

Despite the similar screen size, Lenovo chooses a different path than HP: Instead of using the less common 3:2 aspect ratio, the C13 Yoga uses normal 13.3 inch 16:9 screens. Also, Lenovo does not use Intel Comet-Lake CPUs like HP. Rather, the ThinkPad is powered by AMD Ryzen, though only the older AMD Ryzen 3000 CPUs. The AMD Ryzen 3700U is the fastest CPU available for the ThinkPad C13 Yoga Chomebook.

Design-wise, Lenovo differentiates the ThinkPad C13 Yoga Chromebook from the other ThinkPads with a blue aluminum chassis. The keyboard of the ThinkPad Chromebook also has a different layout from regular ThinkPads. One similarity with those though is the iconic red TrackPoint, which is featured on a Chromebook for the first time.

The remaining specifications are pretty similar to the Windows model ThinkPad L13 Yoga convertible, though the C13 Yoga can boast an optional OLED display. This option is missing on the L13 Yoga and only available in the more expensive ThinkPad X13 Yoga.

Lenovo ThinkPad C13 Yoga Chromebook Enterprise: pricing & availability

The Lenovo ThinkPad C13 Yoga Chromebook Enterprise will be available to order shortly according to Lenovo. The device will cost $579 in the US, putting it in a pretty affordable price-class.

I was an ardent reader of Notebookcheck’s laptop reviews even back in school. After writing reviews as a hobby, I then joined Notebookcheck in 2016 and have worked on device reviews and news articles ever since then. My personal interest lies more with laptops than smartphones, with business laptops being the most interesting category for me. Technology should make our lives and work easier and good laptops are an essential tool for that to happen. This is why laptop reviews are not just my work but are also my passion.
