With the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, two more smartphones will receive the Android 11 update, giving users a new UI and some new game space features. Also, the dark mode is made more easily accessible and gets a new feature.

While the new OnePlus 8t will be introduced on October 14th, there were some news about the already released OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro today. Both are receiving the update to Android 11 starting now.

With this update, these flagship models get not only stability improvements but also some new features. First of all, users get a new UI design that can dynamically adapt to the current time of the day. For example, you can now choose in the settings menu that dark mode is automatically activated at sunset. Furthermore, dark mode can be switched on more easily via the Quick Settings.

In addition, some features have been added to the Always-on-Display. There are now 10 additional Watchfaces and you can also use the Always-on-Display to show events from the calendar. Moreover, the Game Space feature has been reworked, which now contains a number of Quick-Reply functions for Instagram and Whatsapp messages. After this update, users can choose how they want to receive other notifications in Game Space as well. You can read more about the changes in the official blog entry published by OnePlus.

Since I got my first PC as a gift when I was 8 years old (at that time still with an AMD Athlon single core processor) and since I took this device apart, the technology has never let me go. So it came that I immersed myself more and more into the world of computer technology at a young age. When I came across Notebookcheck for the first time in 2015, I was thrilled by the scope of this site. Now, since my successful application in 2016, I am working as a freelancer for Notebookcheck as a news and hardware editor.
