Supposed MIUI 12 update dates for Redmi Note 7, Redmi 9 Prime, Poco M2 and the Redmi 6, 7, and 8 series signal a busy October for Xiaomi

A list of Xiaomi smartphones has appeared online that claims to have some pretty specific dates for when certain devices will receive a MIUI 12 update. Although no particular region is offered, it appears to be for the India ROM due to the appearance of smartphones such as the Poco M2 and Redmi 9 Prime, which are simply known as the Redmi 9 in other ROM regions.

According to this list, which comes via PiunikaWeb and was apparently transmitted originally from a “Xiaomi developer team friend”, the first devices to get MIUI 12 over the next days are the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 8, with an update appearing before October 10. Next up is the Poco M2/Redmi 9 Prime that will start receiving MIUI 12 before October 15.

The Redmi 8 series will supposedly be part of the MIUI 12 rollout in India by October 22, Redmi 7 series by October 25, and Redmi 6 series before October 30. The list finishes with the note “rest of devices before Diwali”, which starts on November 12 this year, and the disclaimer that the information may not be completely trustworthy. If the list does come from a genuine source, then this phase of the drawn-out MIUI 12 push appears to be well coordinated, leaving just phase four devices to be dealt with.
