MIUI 12 for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 8 expected to arrive this month as testing also reputedly completed for the Redmi Note 7S

Rumour has it that Xiaomi has almost finished testing its latest OS on the Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7S and Redmi Note 8. The information has been reported by Piunikaweb, which has cited sources from within the MIUI 12 Official Telegram group. Once an MIUI 12 update passes internal testing, Xiaomi tends to release it to a few devices as a Stable Beta build for a final round of testing.

Hence, Piunikaweb asserts that the Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7S and Redmi Note 8 could be a few weeks from receiving stable MIUI 12 upgrades. Adimorah Blog and Xiaomi Firmware Updater have pointed out an issue with this thinking, though.

As the two websites stress, Xiaomi has not updated its English-language tracker page with any new information regarding the potential release dates of MIUI 12 for the three devices. Of the three devices, Xiaomi only states that V12.0.0.2.QFGINXM remains under testing for the Redmi Note 7S, but that has been the case since July.

However, the Russian-language tracker page conveys that MIUI 12 for the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 8 is expected in October. This applies to all regional variants of the Redmi Note 8, for reference. The Russian-language tracker page does not provide any additional information about the Redmi Note 7S. So, it seems that Xiaomi may be bringing MIUI 12 to at least the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 8, after all.
