Leaked OnePlus Buds Z confirm details and the look of upcoming budget TWS earbuds
OnePlus only got into the earbuds market a few months ago, but the company already appears to have a second pair in the pipeline. According to Oxygen Updater, the earbuds will be called the OnePlus Buds Z and will be available in three colours. The images have apparently been extracted from an APK and reveal the earbuds in their white and silver variants. Oxygen Updater claims that the third variant will be black.
The OnePlus Buds Z are a departure from the OnePlus Buds visually. On the one hand, the former has silicone ear tips, which should provide a better seal than the open design of the OnePlus Buds. On the other hand, the charging case has a much flatter design, akin to the charging case of the Honor Magic Earbuds.
Oxygen Updater expects OnePlus to unveil the Buds Z on October 14 alongside the OnePlus 8T. Meanwhile, Ishan Agarwal claims that the earbuds will have 10 mm drivers, along with IP55 water and dust resistance and up to 5 hours of battery life. The OnePlus Buds Z will support Dolby Atmos too, albeit only on recent OnePlus devices - except for the OnePlus Nord. Finally, the OnePlus Buds Z will have two microphones, one fewer than the OnePlus Buds has. Overall, we would expect OnePlus to pitch the OnePlus Buds Z for cheaper than the OnePlus Buds, which currently retails for US$79.
