In less than 24 hours from now (March 22, 2021), the OnePlus 8T will go from being its OEM's latest flagship phone to its second latest. Nevertheless, its users will still see new versions of OxygenOS for quite a while. They are now available in stable and Open Beta (OB) flavor.
The 8T is now on its second of these new versions (OxygenOS OB2), the first having been released just a week ago now. It might be a good thing, as it addresses a comprehensive list of bugs that may affect 8-series units. They include possible Wi-Fi failures, not to mention an issue in which WhatsApp would stop pushing new notifications if it was left in the background for too long.
OxygenOS OB2 for the OnePlus 8T also fixes various specific Ambient Display bugs, including one in which the correct time-sequence might not be shown. On the other hand, it also offers some interesting new facets of the ROM's development, which include a new time watermark in its camera app, not to mention a new achievement to unlock in this OEM's Zen Mode.
Finally, and possibly most importantly, the OB update renders the 8T's security patch level as up to date as possible this time. Meanwhile, its replacements remain poised to launch on March 23, 2021 at 15:00 CET.
