OnePlus Nord 2 5G launched with a Dimensity 1200 and a main camera straight out of the OnePlus 9 Pro, starts at €399
After months of teasers, OnePlus has finally released the successor to last year's OnePlus Nord. The new device, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G was just launched, and may prove an interesting option in the mid-range segment.
The OnePlus Nord 2 5G sports a 6.43-inch FHD+ 90 Hz AMOLED. That's not quite as good as what Xiaomi offers on the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, but should be adequate for most. Under the hood is a MediaTek Dimensity 1200, a 6nm chipset that offers performance right on par with last year's Snapdragon 865.
Camera hardware is a major improvement from last year's OnePlus Nord, with the Nord 2 sporting the 50 MP Sony IMX766, the same sensor on ultra-wide cameras of the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. That camera is joined by an 8 MP ultra-wide lens and a 2 MP lens that's unlikely to be useful. At the front is a 32 MP selfie camera housed within a hole punch.
Other features include up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, a 4500 mAh battery, and 65 W charging. The OnePlus Nord runs Oxygen OS 11 out of the box, and OnePlus has confirmed that it will receive two major OS updates and three years of software updates in total. The phone is available in Grey Sierra, Blue Haze, and Green Woods (exclusive to India).
