OnePlus 12 tipped to launch with Xiaomi 13 Ultra-challenging features in late 2023

OnePlus may have just launched the latest Marble Odyssey version of its flagship 11 in India (at a price of INR 64,999 (~US$792); however, according to the latest rumors, the company may have moved on internally to the next generation already.

Yogesh Brar is back to elaborate on an initial OnePlus 12 specs leak with updates that include an "improved new gen display". That might be plausible enough for an OEM that prides itself on its Fluid AMOLED - however, Brar now also purports to add a "new imaging sensor" to the device's preliminary specs list.

That comment has led to speculation that OnePlus will finally upgrade to a 1-inch main sensor in this generation - which, as it might also be the first to drop Hasselblad branding and still lag behind the Find X6 Pro from 'co-brand' OPPO, might be ironic.

The leaker also suggests that this potentially ground-breaking (for OnePlus) camera may be joined by a "telephoto lens" - which might back up earlier claims of periscope zoom in the upcoming 12. On that note, the shooters are said to be part of a "symmetrical design", which might mean a shift to more of a Xiaomi 13 Ultra (or Realme 11-series) look in this generation.

The OnePlus 11 is one of the fastest-charging Android smartphones on some markets - however, Brar now contradicts an earlier tip in asserting that the 12 will have an upgraded form of SuperVOOC technology. The upcoming, probably Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered, Android smartphone is now believed to launch in December 2023 - albeit in China only, with an early 2024 debut for its global edition.
