OnePlus 11 already outselling the Xiaomi 13 and Vivo X90 series as exec confirms no OnePlus 11 Pro plans
OnePlus debuted its first flagship phone for the year, the OnePlus 11, in China last week. The OnePlus 11 is scheduled to launch globally next month, but already looks to be a sales success, with it seemingly outselling other heavyweights like the Xiaomi 13 series.
As revealed by OnePlus on its Weibo handle, in just 51 minutes, the OnePlus 11 managed to outsell every other Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phone in terms of their first sales. Chinese phones are typically listed on platforms like JD and TMall in batches, and it appears the OnePlus 11 edges out all its rivals in terms of that first batch of sales.
Considering the list of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phones currently released in China include the Xiaomi 13 series, Vivo X90 series, Nubia Z50, and iQOO 11, this is a rather impressive feat by the OnePlus 11—and one that shows the company's continued relevance in its home market. On a side note, OnePlus has also confirmed that over 80% of OnePlus 11 buyers so far in China opted for the 16 GB model of the phone.
While the OnePlus 11 continues to flex its commercial muscles, it appears the company has no plans to launch a OnePlus 11 Pro. OnePlus has received criticism for leaning towards quantity over quality in recent years, in part due to a sudden shift in company policy that has seen it release more and more devices yearly. On the flagship level, at least, that looks to be changing.
Instead of releasing a OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 11 Pro as it has done since the OnePlus 7 series, Li Jie, President of OnePlus China, has confirmed that the OnePlus 11 will be the company's sole flagship model for now. That means there will be no OnePlus 11 Pro, although the company will likely still release a OnePlus 11T as a mid-gen refresh towards the end of the year.
