OnePlus Buds Pro 2 launch as upgraded ANC TWS earbuds with first-gen Dynaudio tuning, spatial audio and LHDC 5.0 ↺
The new Buds Pro 2 have launched with a design along the signature bulbous lines of their predecessors; however, their main specs and features will bring waves of déjà vu to those who have ever seriously considered buying the Enco X2s from OnePlus' parent company OPPO.
The almost suspicious similarity extends to 11mm drivers enhanced with Dynaudio tuning, "Golden" personalized audio algorithms and a "Hi-Fi listening experience" (albeit without overt mention of DBEE). Then again, the Buds Pro 2 have ANC rated to go up to 48dB - even more than the Enco X2s (at 45dB), and "significantly" more than the Buds Pro (40dB).
OnePlus also rates the Buds Pro 2 to convert audio input into a "live" Spatial Audio experience. Then again, it seems this feature requires the latest Android framework for the same, meaning that one just might need a brand new 11 flagship to activate it.
Similarly, the Buds Pro 2 may have just become the world's second LHDC 5.0 TWS earbuds from an Android brand - however, again, this might require the latest software and even paired hardware to support it. Nevertheless, OnePlus is confident that the earbuds will deliver "Smart Dynamic Bass" with "vacuum-like noise reduction".
The Pro 2s will be available in Arbor Green or Obsidian Black (to match the 11, of course), as will their USB type-C charging cases, which are rated to bolster their buds with up to 30 hours of additional battery life (with ANC off).
OnePlus China will start selling the Buds Pro 2 from January 9, 2023, although they can be pre-ordered from now with an offer of 60 yuan (~US$9) off their normal 899 yuan (~US$130) price.
