Xiaomi has introduced the Xiaomi 13 Pro in China, where it will be orderable from early next week. Available in four colours and as many memory configurations, the Xiaomi 13 Pro combines a plethora of premier components, including the Sony IMX989 primary camera from the Xiaomi 12S Ultra.

Xiaomi has presented the Xiaomi 13 Pro, its latest flagship smartphone and one of the first to arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. For now, Xiaomi is only selling the Xiaomi 13 series in China, with a global launch expected for some time during early 2023. Xiaomi has not confirmed this yet though, nor has it even acknowledged the series' arrival on its global social media channels yet.

Regardless, the Xiaomi 13 Pro builds on its predecessor with new cameras, a revised design and a similar display. According to Xiaomi, the Xiaomi 13 Pro has a brighter panel than its predecessor, which jumps from 1,500 to 1,900 nits. The 6.73-inch, 1440p and 120 Hz panel of last year's model remains, with an LTPO backplane also installed to provide a variable refresh rate for maximising battery life.

Additionally, the Xiaomi 13 Pro offers a 4,820 mAh battery capacity, with 10 W reverse wireless, 50 W wireless and 120 W wired charging thanks to an in-house Surge G1 chip. The large battery works in tandem with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage, along with the aforementioned Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Moreover, Xiaomi has equipped the Xiaomi 13 Pro with the following Leica-tuned cameras:

  • Primary: Sony IMX989 - 50 MP, f/1.9, OIS
  • Ultra-wide-angle: 50 MP, f/2.2, 14 mm equivalent focal length
  • Telephoto: 50 MP, 3x optical zoom, f/2.0 aperture, 75 mm equivalent length
  • Front-facing: 32 MP

The Xiaomi 13 Pro will be orderable in China from December 14, starting with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. At launch, Xiaomi will sell the device in Ceramic White, Far Mountain Blue, Terracotta Black and Wilderness Green. For some reason, only Wilderness Green and Far Mountain Blue have ceramic back panels. Xiaomi has priced the Xiaomi 13 Pro in China as follows:

  • 8 GB of RAM/128 GB of storage - CNY 4,999 (~US$719)
  • 8 GB of RAM/256 GB of storage - CNY 5,399 (~US$776)
  • 12 GB of RAM/256 GB of storage - CNY 5,799 (~US$834)
  • 12 GB of RAM/512 GB of storage - CNY 6,299 (~US$905)
