Xiaomi 13: Compact flagship launches in China with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Sony IMX800 camera
Xiaomi has finally presented the Xiaomi 13 in its entirety, albeit only in China for now. Currently the cheapest of the company's current generation flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi 13 contains many of the same features as the Xiaomi 13 Pro, arguably more so than the Xiaomi 12 does when compared to the Xiaomi 12 Pro.
Specifically, the Xiaomi 13 relies on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, Qualcomm's latest flagship chipset. The Xiaomi 13 also contains UFS 4.0 flash storage and LPDDR5X RAM, but only 67 W wired fast charging for its 4,500 mAh battery. Conversely, the Xiaomi 13 matches its Pro sibling with 50 W wireless and 10 W reverse wireless charging, plus IP68 dust and water resistance.

Moreover, the Xiaomi 13 has four cameras like the Xiaomi 13 Pro, although the 32 MP front-facing sensor is the sole camera shared between the pair. Still, the Xiaomi 13 utilises the Sony IMX800 as its main camera, another 50 MP sensor supported by OIS. Furthermore, the handset has a 10 MP and optically stabilised telephoto camera that provides 3x optical zoom, as well as a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera. Seemingly, the latter lacks autofocus or OIS support.
The Xiaomi 13 is available in nine colours at launch, with five restricted to a Limited Edition model that is likely a Chinese exclusive. Pictured below, the Xiaomi 13 Limited Edition contains all the same core features as the regular model but in more vibrant colourways and in a sole memory configuration.
