Vivo X90s tipped to launch soon with Dimensity 9200 processor
Vivo might launch a new, potentially high-end, smartphone soon. Then again, "new" might be a stretch, as all rumored specs of the heretofore-unreleased device mostly line up with those of the X90 from late 2022.
Its alleged new sibling has been detected as a new entry on the Google Play Console. This "Vivo X90s" has the model number PD2241 - very similar to V2241A for the vanilla X90.
As its putative new sibling also has the "MediaTek MT6985" (or Dimensity 9200) silicon, Android 13-based OS and 12GB RAM option of the current vanilla flagship, it is hard to see why Vivo is apparently even bothering to release this new variant.
The "X90s" even has the same 1260x2800 resolution as the non-Pro+ variants - however, unlike those devices, its pixel density is given as 480 DPI (dots per inch), whereas the X90 and X90 Pro have a PPI (pixels per inch) value of ~453.
Presuming the 2 measures of density are being used interchangeably, that could mean the X90s has the smallest display of its series yet. If so, it will be interesting to see if this compact version turns up with the same Zeiss-branded rear cameras and updated rear panels as the rest of the latest Vivo X-series smartphones.
