Xiaomi shares full POCO F5 and POCO F5 Pro details before global releases
Xiaomi has listed the POCO F5 and POCO F5 Pro on its UAE website, a day ahead of the pair's global release. While the listings may have gone live by mistake, they confirm all aspects of the inaugural POCO F5 series handsets, as well as their similarities with existing Xiaomi smartphones. As expected, Xiaomi equips the POCO F5 with the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 but affords the nominally more powerful Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 for the POCO F5 Pro.
Additionally, both smartphones have 6.67-inch AMOLED displays that operate at 120 Hz with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support. However, the POCO F5 makes do with a lesser 1080p panel, rather than the 1440p one in the POCO F5 Pro. The POCO F5 Pro is marginally larger than the POCO F5 too, but only by less than 1 mm in most directions. The pair also share 64 MP primary, 8 MP ultra-wide-angle, 2 MP macro and 16 MP front-facing cameras. Please note that Xiaomi optically stabilises just the 64 MP primary camera, which has an f/1.79 aperture and a 1/2-inch optical format.

The Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset allows the POCO F5 Pro to record 8K/24 FPS videos though; the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 in the POCO F5 tops out at 4K/60 FPS. Elsewhere, the POCO F5 and POCO F5 Pro both support 67 W wired charging, although the POCO F5 Pro is also capable of 30 W wireless charging. For reference, the POCO F5 and POCO F5 Pro have 5,000 mAh and 5,160 mAh battery capacities, respectively.
Furthermore, the POCO F5 has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. In comparison, the POCO F5 Pro features an in-display fingerprint scanner instead. Both smartphones will be available with 12 GB of RAM, but the POCO F5 and POCO F5 Pro will be configurable with up to 256 GB and 512 GB of storage, respectively.
