The Fengmi Laser TV C3 is now available to pre-order in China. The 4K ultra short throw projector uses an ALPD laser light source to deliver up to 400 nits brightness. You can project images from 80 to 200-in (~203 to 508 cm) wide, and the 0.23:1 throw ratio allows you to generate a 100-in (~254 cm) image with the device placed 24 cm (~9.4 in) from the screen. The C3 has an AI image-enhancing tool, MEMC motion smoothing, a 3,000:1 contrast ratio and support for HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG.
The Fengmi C3, also known as the Formovie C3, has several upgrades compared to the C2, including HDMI 2.1 eARC ports in place of HDMI 2.0 ARC ports and FengOS 3.0 rather than 2.0. You can cast content to the device using tools like Miracast and Apple AirPlay, plus the device also supports the Xiaomi Mijia smart home system and voice commands. Two built-in 15W speakers are compatible with Dolby Audio and DTS-HD technologies, and you can connect external speakers or other gadgets via S/PDIF and USB 2.0 ports.
The Fengmi Laser TV C3 projector costs 12,999 yuan (~US$1,879) and can now be pre-ordered with a 100 yuan (~US$14) deposit. Bundles of the projector with a Fresnel screen start at 13,999 yuan (~US$2,024) for an 88-in model. Customers who purchase the device between now and May 15 will receive a 1,000 yuan (~US$45) discount on the laser TV. It is unclear whether or when the device could launch in other markets.
