Fengmi has launched the R1c ultra short throw laser projector in China. You can use the 1080p device to throw images up to 200-in (~508 cm) wide with up to 850 CIVA lumens or 1,400 ANSI lumens brightness. Features include voice controls, Xiaomi Mijia smart home integration and built-in speakers.

The Fengmi R1c ultra short throw laser projector has been unveiled in China. You can use the device to throw images from 50 to 200-in (~127 to 508 cm) wide with a 0.33:1 throw ratio. The projector has an ALPD laser light source with up to 850 CIVA lumens or 1,400 ANSI lumens brightness. While the gadget has a native 1080p resolution, there is support for 4K and HDR10+ decoding.

Fengmi claims that the gadget covers 110% of the Rec.709 color space and has a proprietary FAV image quality engine to optimize the picture. Plus, the R1c has a 3,000:1 contrast ratio and MEMC motion smoothing technology. You can perfect the projection with eight-point keystone correction, with the option to adjust the image using a smartphone app. The device uses the newer FengOS 3.0, with dual-band Wi-Fi and support for wireless screen mirroring. Ports on the projector include HDMI ARC, USB 2.0 and S/PDIF.

The R1c has two built-in 10W speakers supporting Dolby Audio and DTS:HD technologies. You can control the device with voice commands, and the projector is compatible with the Xiaomi Mijia smart home system. The round gadget measures 304 x 304 x 99 mm (~12.0 x 12.0 x 3.9-in). You can now buy the Fengmi R1c projector in China for the discounted price of 4,999 yuan (~US$719); the gadget is expected to retail for 5,999 yuan (~US$863) in the future. Fegmi has also released the R1c Nano projector, a cheaper model with a lower maximum brightness of 1050 ANSI lumens.
