The IKEA RODRET wireless dimmer has been revealed. The latest Android IKEA Home smart app update notes “introducing the new RODRET wireless dimmer!”. The log suggests the product can be used to wirelessly switch on or off or dim up to ten lights simultaneously.
A product page for the IKEA RODRET wireless dimmer/power switch has appeared in the Dominican Republic. The device is currently unavailable in this country, with a retail price of RD$499 (~US$9). The listing reveals that AAA batteries power the white gadget, which must be connected to the lights via a DIRIGERA hub. The compact device measures 3 x 1.75 x 1.25-in (~76 x 44 x 32 mm).
A Declaration of Conformity document from 2022 suggests that there will be three gadgets in the RODRET range, with a blinds remote and shortcut button accompanying the wireless dimmer. The RODRET blind remote is described as moving blinds up or down and curtains left or right. While IKEA smart blinds already exist with models like the FYRTUR, a smart curtain would be a new product for the brand. The RODRET shortcut button device would contain two buttons, which can trigger up to four preset scenes across various linked smart home products. It is unclear when any new IKEA RODRET devices will go on sale or how they will roll out across multiple markets.
