The Dyson 360 Vis Nav robot vacuum has been unveiled. The gadget is billed as the most powerful robot vacuum on the market, with up to 100,000 rpm. The 360 Vis Nav has obstacle avoidance and dust detection features, with a side actuator targeting dirt in the area closest to the wall.

Dyson has unveiled the 360 Vis Nav robot vacuum. The company claims it is the most powerful robot vacuum on the market, delivering six times the suction power of other models. The Dyson Hyperdymium motor spins the robot's bar-shaped brush at up to 100,000 rpm, providing 65 AW (Airwatts) power.

The 360 Vis Nav’s brush combines fluffy nylon fibre to pick up larger items, stiff nylon to reach down into carpets and anti-static carbon fibre elements to collect fine particles such as dust. The robot uses SLAM technology and a 360° panoramic view of its surroundings to navigate your home, with positioning accuracy to within 71 mm (~2.8-in). The 360 Vis Nav has 26 sensors for obstacle avoidance and dust detection, increasing the power as needed. The robot can also detect a wall and use a side edge actuator to clean along the edge. You can control the vacuum with voice commands or the MyDyson app, scheduling future cleans and defining zones in your home.

The new Dyson robot vacuum has a dual-link suspension system and can overcome obstacles up to 21 mm (~0.04-in) in height. The gadget will run for up to 50 minutes between charges and has Quick and Quiet cleaning modes. The Dyson 360 Vis Nav robot vacuum cleaner will launch in Australia on May 25, retailing for AU$2,399 (~US$1,585). Despite its premium positioning, the new Dyson robot vacuum does not appear to be able to mop or come with a self-emptying dock, features seen on many rival offerings like the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra robot vacuum and mop. It is unclear when the product could launch in other markets like the UK and US or how much it would cost.
