New TCL 2023 QLED Q Class TVs revealed including 98-in model
TCL has announced its 2023 QLED Q Class TV range, with the Q6, Q7 and QM8. The 4K UHD models use Quantum Dot technology and an UltraWide Color Gamut, producing over a billion colors. The top-end QM8 has a Mini LED display with 2,300 local dimming zones, a peak brightness of 2,000 nits and support for Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+. The Q7 has over 200 local dimming zones, a lower peak brightness of 1,000 nits and the same format support.
Meanwhile, the Q6 has a direct LED display and support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+. The QM8 and Q7 have a 120Hz panel refresh rate with Motion Rate 480 and Game Accelerator 240 technologies. The Q6 has a 60 Hz refresh rate, Motion Rate 240 and Game Accelerator 120 for enhanced gaming. All models feature ALLM and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. The new TVs use the Google TV OS, providing access to popular streaming services, Chromecast, and Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa voice commands.
Each model has a built-in speaker system, ranging from dual 10W speakers in the Q6 to a 40W sound system with a subwoofer in the QM8, supporting Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual:X. Most TCL QLED S Class TVs are now available in the US, with the 55-in Q6 starting from US$499.99. The range-topping 98-in QM8 TV will launch later this year for US$9,999.99.
