The new BenQ W4000i 4K HDR LED Home Theater Projector is now available in the UK and EU. The DLP projector has CinematicColor technology, covering 100% of the DCI-P3 and Rec.709 color spaces. Plus, BenQ’s HDR-PRO feature supports 24P playback and HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG formats. Local Contrast Enhancer and Tone Mapping deliver a richly detailed picture with a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio.
The W4000i has a 1.15 to 1.5 throw ratio, and you can optimize the image with vertical and horizontal lens shifts and 1.3X zoom. Other parts include a 0.65” 4K DMD imaging device and a 4LED light source for up to 3,200 lumens brightness, allowing you to use the projector in a brighter room. The BenQ device uses an Android TV dongle, running on Android 11.0, compatible with Bluetooth 5.0 and dual-band Wi-Fi. This lets you download apps from the Google Play Store and stream content from a mobile device via Apple AirPlay or Google Chromecast.
The BenQ projector has a built-in 5 W speaker, or you can connect an external gadget via HDMI eARC, with support for Dolby Atmos. You can connect other gadgets via two USB-A interfaces and a 3.5 mm jack, and the device measures 420.5 x 135 x 312 mm (~16.54 x 5.31 x 12.28-in). You can buy the BenQ W4000i 4K projector in the UK and EU for £2,999 or €2,999 (~US$3,781). It is unclear whether or when the gadget could arrive in North America. Also recently launched was the BenQ TK860i 4K Cinematic projector.
